Ekua McCalla is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Adventist University of Health Sciences, where she graduated with Cum Laude Honors in 2011. She went on to earn a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University, graduating in 2015 with Cum Laude Honors.
Ekua joins the team at Primary Care Falls Church with years of experience in direct patient care. Before earning her master’s degree, Ekua worked as a registered nurse at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida, and at the Riverside County Regional Medical Center in California. After school, Ekua then returned to Florida to work as a Nurse Practitioner at the Florida Hospital Medical Group before joining Primary Care Falls Church in the summer of 2017.
Ekua values a holistic, team-based approach to patient care, and collaborates with other providers in the practice in order to provide the best possible care for her patients. She has a particular clinical interest in women’s health, under-served populations, health promotion, and preventative medicine. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Association of Family Physicians.
Outside of work, Ekua enjoys playing soccer, cooking, spending time with her family, and mentoring at-risk children.
