Mariame began her nursing career at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, graduating in 2002. After earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing she worked as a Registered Nurse at Virginia Hospital Center in obstetrics for more than a decade before returning to school. In 2018, Mariame obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Delivering comprehensive care to women has always been Mariame’s mission. That means blending her clinical expertise with patient education. She understands how important it is to involve patients in every part of the health care process. That’s why Mariame makes it a point to build strong relationships.
Mariame considers herself both a lifelong teacher and student. She’s always searching for new ways to keep her patients healthy. She focuses on prevention and early intervention to help women make informed decisions about their own health, from puberty and pregnancy through menopause and beyond.
In addition to her decades of experience in nursing, Mariame holds numerous certifications to care for her patients. She is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) provider. Mariame is also certified as an Inpatient Obstetric Nurse by the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
Mariame lives in Arlington with her three children and husband. She’s fluent in French and conversational Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys biking with her family and traveling the world.
