Dr Haque is a Board certified physician in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and further sub specializes in Advanced Endoscopy.
He completed his medical degree at the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. His Internal medicine residency was completed at the Graduate Hospital, Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, where he also served as the Chief Medical Resident. Subsequently, he went on to complete a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Cooper University Hospital, University of Medicine and Dentistry, NJ where he also received training in Advanced Endoscopy and served as the Chief Fellow for Medical specialties. He went on to train in Endoscopic Ultrasound with the pioneers in this field, at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Prior to coming to VHC, he worked at Calvert Hospital in Maryland, as well as serving as the Director of Advanced Endoscopy for Medstar Southern Maryland group. He has various publications to his name, and has presented at various national meetings. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
His areas of interest include Advanced Endoscopy, Pancreatic disorders, resection of large polyps of the colon, endoscopic ultrasound for staging and managing gastrointestinal malignancies, endoluminal stenting, Bariatric endoscopy, and endoscopic suturing along with general Gastroenterology.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, and biking.
