Dr. Heidi D. Gorsuch-Rafferty brings a wealth of experience and expertise as a highly regarded breast surgeon with VHC Health Physicians - Charlotte S. Benjamin Center for Women's Health.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate studies, obtaining a BA in Biology from the University of Maryland. Dr. Gorsuch-Rafferty completed her surgical and chief residency at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. She did surgical research for a year at Rockefeller University in New York and was also a Resident Fellow in the Department of Surgery, Memorial Sloan–Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Gorsuch-Rafferty has led the development of breast programs in Virginia, California and Florida. As a breast surgeon at VHC Health since November 2022, she has continued her unwavering commitment to provide personalized and compassionate care. Her mission ensures each patient feels supported throughout their journey to recovery.

Dr. Gorsuch-Rafferty is board certified and licensed to practice in multiple states. Her commitment to education is reflected in her academic faculty appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California at Davis from 2007 to 2009. A member of professional societies such as the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Virginia Medical Association, Dr. Gorsuch-Rafferty has received numerous honors and awards throughout her career.
