George Younan MD, FACS, is the Medical Director of VHC Health - Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery. He is a Board-Certified General Surgeon and a Fellowship-trained Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon. After obtaining his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, he finished his surgical internship at the Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston (Harvard Medical School), and his residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He then completed a Fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. After being in private practice in Northern Virginia since 2015, Dr. Younan joined VHC Health physicians in 2023. 

Dr. Younan performs a wide range of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgeries, in addition to General Surgery. He takes a minimally invasive/robotic approach to his surgeries, in addition to the regular approach. Dr. Younan is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of multiple societies for Liver and Pancreatic Surgeries including the AHPBA (The Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association) and SSO (Society of Surgical Oncology). 

Dr. Younan is the author of multiple publications in journal articles in addition to multiple book chapters in his specialty. He is also proficient in English, French and Arabic.
