Jessica Sommer, DO, FACOG is an OB/GYN provider and hospitalist with VHC Health Physicians - Charlotte S. Benjamin Center for Women's Health.
Born and raised in New York, she received her Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University and her Doctorate of Osteopathy from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Sommer learned a holistic approach to treating patients, using hands on diagnosis and treatment through a system of therapy called Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM).
In 2007, Dr. Sommer moved to Washington D.C. to become an Obstetrics & Gynecology Resident at MedStar Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University. She was awarded the Urogynecology Surgical Award at graduation for her interest and skill in gynecologic surgery.
In her free time, she loves cooking, gardening, and enjoys Pilates and HIIT classes to stay fit and active. Her favorite past time on the weekend is spending time with her family and Doberman puppy, Rza.
Dr. Sommer has areas of interest that include Preventative Medicine, Contraception Counseling, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Adolescent Gynecology, Hereditary Cancer Screening and Testing, and Uterine Fibroids.
