Medication Safety for Children
Rest assured, your child will receive the right medications at the right dose at the right time while staying at VHC Health. Our specialized medication system ensures medicines are always on hand—so your child won't have to wait for pain relief, antibiotics or other prescription drugs.
Pediatric Imaging
When your child needs an imaging procedure, count on us to maximize comfort and minimize fears for your child—and you.
For some tests, your care team may recommend sedation. Sedation allows your child to sleep safely and peacefully through the procedure. You may stay with your child throughout the process, except during the actual scanning procedure. This allows your child to see you as he or she goes off to sleep and immediately upon awakening. A nurse and doctor stay at your child's side the entire time.
VHC Health can usually schedule diagnostic imaging procedures that require sedation within two weeks of your request. Due to the need for scheduling both the sedation and the scan, at most other medical facilities you may have to wait six weeks or more for an appointment. Once the scan is complete, radiologists read the films immediately.
