VHC Health Ranks as Best-in-State for 2024 in Virginia, Newsweek Reports
ARLINGTON, VA (November 2, 2023) – VHC Health, a community-based health system providing medical services to the Washington, DC metropolitan area, has received a top ranking in Newsweek’s Best-in-State list for Virginia hospitals for 2024. The first ranking of its kind, this survey ranked the leading hospitals in the United States, over 600 in total, and was based on four data sources, including surveys of doctors, healthcare professionals, hospital administrators and patients.
Ranked at #5 in Virginia, VHC Health scored a 79.92%, and was in the top three in the Washington, DC metro region.

Each hospital was rated based on participants’ rating on a scale of 1-10 for several quality dimensions, including quality of care, staffing, patient counseling, and accommodation and amenities. The final scores were weighted on peer recommendations (32.5 percent in-state and 7.5 percent out-of-state), patient experience (17.5 percent), hospital quality metrics (40 percent) and implementation of standardized Patient-Reported Outcome Measures, or PROMs (2.5 percent).
