VHC Health Childbirth Experience Support Group

Mission

In this group, we will discuss the effects of a difficult childbirth experience, our emotions, and coping skills. This group is focused on what it is like following a traumatic birth and connecting with others who may have similar experiences. While your story has so much value, we will not explore birth stories in detail as they could be triggering to others.

Participant Population:
Individuals who have experienced birth trauma (including partners/ spouses). Participants are not required to have delivered at VHC Health and there is no time limitation on participation related to when the birth event may have occurred.

Leadership

This group will be led by a Licensed Professional Counselor with support from nurse representatives of the VHC Women and Infant Health Trauma Informed Care Work Group.

Logistics

This support group will align under the VHC Health Childbirth Education support groups. It will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams, the third Monday of each month from 3-4pm Eastern.
