Melanie Polin, MD is an OB/GYN physician with VHC Health Physicians - Charlotte S. Benjamin Center for Women's Health.
Originally from San Diego, California, Dr. Polin received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Stanford University in 2014. Dr. Polin subsequently attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY, where she graduated with the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Contributions and the Thomas F. Cock Prize for Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology for her research in maternal sepsis and high-risk pregnancies. She additionally served as president of the Lambda Health Alliance for LGBTQ medical students.
Dr. Polin completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/ NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where upon graduation she was awarded the Richard U. Levine Generalist Award for exemplifying the qualities of dedication, advocacy, leadership, mentorship, and teamwork, as well as the SASGOG Resident Award for academic and research accomplishments, and the Ryan Program Resident Award for Excellence in Family Planning. During residency, Dr. Polin also received the AUGS Award for Excellence in Urogynecology (Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery).
Dr. Polin is thrilled to be a part of VHC Health Physicians. Her particular interests include care for the LGBTQ community, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and high risk obstetrics, although she is passionate about providing lifelong care across the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology.
