Dr. Dominique Gagnon is a board-certified Family Medicine physician at VHC Health Physicans who provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages. She has a passion for primary care, geriatrics, preventive care and for caring for patients whether they have acute and/or chronic conditions. She has experience in women’s health, care for children, adolescents, adults and elderly patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings.
Dr. Gagnon graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine and completed her residency there as well. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Before her medical career, she earned her PhD in biophysics and molecular physiology from the University of Montreal and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago. During her time at Texas Tech University, she also served as a visiting research scientist and an instructor in the Department of Physics.
In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Gagnon has contributed to clinical research, including projects on uterine excitability. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications and presented her research at various conferences. Her work has contributed to a better understanding of molecular mechanisms in gut, nerve, and muscle cells, which are significant in health and disease contexts.
Raised in Carignan, Quebec, Dr. Gagnon is fluent in French, English and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, camping and spending time with family and friends.
