Truc T. Trinh, MD

Dr. Trinh is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She has authored and contributed to several original scientific and review articles in the field of IBD. Dr. Trinh also has clinical interests in other rheumatologic disorders of the GI tract, viral hepatitis, functional GI disorders and women's GI health. Dr. Trinh was Instructor of Clinical Internal Medicine in the Digestive Health Center of Excellence at the University of Virginia Health System prior to joining the practice. After completing her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship in Charlottesville, Virginia, she undertook a sub-specialty training in autoimmune genetic disorders at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in Cambridge, MA. She returned to UVA on faculty as part of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Women's GI team. During her fellowship and time on staff, she participated in both translational and clinical research in IBD. She was a recipient of the Crohn's Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) research grant and the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA) Excellence in Clinical IBD Award.
