Gautam Ramakrishna MD FACC

Gautam Ramakrishna, MD specializes in general and nuclear cardiology, including the use of nuclear stress testing, stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography for diagnosis. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and adult comprehensive echocardiography and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine. “Although I utilize complex procedures, diagnostic testing and endorse medication management, I also emphasize the fundamental importance of lifestyle changes, including exercise and diet,” he said. “It is always preferable to prevent an illness if possible, rather than relying solely on treating it.”

In his free time, Dr. Ramakrishna enjoys running and playing tennis as well as reading about astronomy, astrophysics and quantum mechanics. He also enjoys traveling and has climbed Machu Picchu.
