Aida Girma, MD, is a Primary Care provider with VHC Health Physicians - Annandale. Dr. Girma earned her Bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan in 2008 before pursuing a Master’s degree in Biological Science at Wayne State University. She went to Wayne State University for medical school as well, graduating with a Medical Doctorate in 2015. Dr. Girma moved to the DC area in 2015 to attend the Family Medicine Residency Program at Georgetown University.
While completing her education, Dr. Girma held a number of volunteer positions that exposed her to a diverse patient population. While in Michigan, Dr. Girma worked at the Taubman Center Pediatric Multispecialty Clinic at the University of Michigan Hospital and at Planned Parenthood, where she did clinical research and clinical care. Since moving to DC, Dr. Girma has also volunteered at St Ann’s Center for Children, Youth & Families.
Upon her graduation from residency in 2018, Dr. Girma joined the VHC Health Physicians, where she practiced in Arlington before moving to Primary Care Annandale in 2022. She is board certified in Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the District of Columbia Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Girma believes in patient-centered care, where patients and their families are actively involved in their medical decisions. She has a clinical interest in women’s health and preventative medicine. She is currently accepting new patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Girma enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and trying new cultural cuisines.
