Danielle Engskow, MD, AAHIVS (she/her) is board-certified in Internal Medicine at VHC Health Physicians - Primary Care Old Town.
Dr. Engskow graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of South Florida. She completed her medical education at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. While in medical school, she received the prestigious Kosove Graduate Fellowship which fully funded her first two years of study.
Dr. Engskow completed residency at The George Washington University Hospital. During that time, she completed additional training in HIV medicine through GW’s HIV in Internal Medicine Pathway. She is a certified HIV Specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
Dr. Engskow has experience caring for medically complex patients in under-resourced settings in the United States and internationally. While a resident she participated in the Harvard-Botswana Global Health Program in Medicine in Molepolole, Botswana. Prior to joining VHC Health, Dr. Engskow worked at a local Federally Qualified Health Center.
In addition to providing general primary care, Dr. Engskow has clinical interests in HIV care/PrEP, gender affirming care, and mental health. She enjoys developing longitudinal relationships with her patients so that she can provide comprehensive care aimed at disease prevention and improved quality of life.
Dr. Engskow lives in Alexandria with her family and Shiba Inu, Nori. When not at work, she enjoys hiking, rollerblading, and sampling the many cuisines of the DC region.
