Safa Osman, MD, is board-certified in internal medicine and weight management. Amassing over two decades of experience in the field of internal medicine, Dr. Osman is a renowned expert in the field. Throughout the course of her education and training, Dr. Osman attained her Medical Degree in 1998 from Omdurman Islamic University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences located in Sudan. She went on to complete her residency at New York Medical College, Montefiore Medical Center in 2007 and received her Master’s Degree in Health Administration and Gerontology from the University of Phoenix in 2016.

Before joining VHC Health, Dr. Osman joined Jefferson Primary Care in Ranson, West Virginia in 2007, where she become a partner after one year, and subsequently the owner of the practice. She joined Valley Health in 2017 and would later turn her focus to providing affordable and convenient health care at JenCare Senior Medical Center in Richmond, VA where she served as the Interim Center Medical Director in 2022.

Dr. Osman strongly believes in a patient-family-centered approach and encourages active collaboration and shared decision-making between patients and their loved ones. To this end, she makes an effort to design a customized and comprehensive care plan for each of her patients. Her patients are her partners and it is imperative for her to treat them not only from a clinical perspective, but also from an emotional, mental, and social approach.

Dr. Osman is a recipient of the 2017 Top Doctor Award in Ranson, West Virginia, and the 2018 Top Doctor Award by Continental Who’s Who. She is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and a member of New York Medical College Association.

In her free time, Dr. Osman can be found reading, biking, or traveling with her husband and three children.
