Dr. Melki graduated from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1986. After a one year internship, he went on to complete his three year residency in ophthalmology at Georgetown University Medical Center.

This was followed by a fellowship devoted to diseases of the retina and vitreous at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Melki’s return to Washington, DC led him to join the clinical faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Georgetown University Hospital. In 1992, Dr. Melki founded the Retina Centers of Washington which has developed into two completely independent, modern offices in convenient locations Arlington, VA and Rockville, MD.
