As a primary care physician I am only one part of a patient’s health team. One of my roles is to provide patient education and utilize current evidence-based medicine so that my patients can make the best choices for themselves. Together we treat illness establish healthier lifestyles and choices and prevent preventable diseases. To help potentiate these goals each person in this team contributes invaluable time, effort, insight, personal strengths, and willingness to listen. Jennifer T. Neria, MD, MPH is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at Georgetown University. She is a native of the Washington DC area. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology in Alexandria, Virginia, she went on to complete her undergraduate degree in English at the University of Virginia and has a Master's degree in Public Health in International Health Promotion at George Washington University School of Public Health. She earned her medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed training at the VCU-Fairfax Family Medicine Residency Program in Fairfax, Virginia, one of the oldest and highly regarded family medicine programs in the U.S. She was elected Academic Chief Resident in her last year of residency, and that same year, was awarded "Resident Teacher of the Year" by her residency program and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM).
