- Comprehensive Services Under One Roof: Unlike other breast health programs in the area, VHC Health offers all necessary medical, surgical and ancillary services in a single convenient location. This means you can access the best in specialty healthcare without the hassle of traveling to multiple locations or experiencing treatment delays.
- Multidisciplinary Team Approach: Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate closely to tailor treatment plans to the unique needs of each patient.
- State-of-the-Art Diagnosis and Management: We stay at the forefront of breast disease diagnosis and management, utilizing the latest technologies and treatment approaches to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Why Our Accreditation Matters:
Choosing a breast center with a National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) certification offers several important benefits:
- Rigorous Evaluation: To earn and maintain accreditation, we undergo rigorous screenings, site visits, and ongoing reviews every three years. This ensures that we continually meet and exceed the standards set forth by NAPBC.
- Best Practice Recognition: Our accreditation serves as a testament to our commitment to best practices in breast health care and reflects our dedication to delivering the highest level of care to our patients.
- Peace of Mind: Accreditation from NAPBC provides you with greater peace of mind, knowing that you are receiving care from a facility that has met stringent standards for quality and safety.
Preventative Care and Screenings
When it comes to Preventative Care and Screenings, it's essential to communicate with your primary care provider or gynecologist. Be sure to discuss:
- How to do breast self-exams and how often to do them
- How often you need a clinical breast examination (CBE), an exam your doctor performs
- Which breast screenings may be right for you based on your age and health
- Risk factors or symptoms you should be aware of
When to See a Doctor
Make an appointment with your doctor if you experience any breast or nipple changes, such as:
- Breast pain, redness or warmth
- Breast lump
- Nipple or breast skin discoloration
- Nipple discharge not related to breastfeeding
If you are a man, talk to your doctor if you experience abnormal breast growth.
Referral for Care
Depending on your symptoms—or if you have a personal or family history of breast cancer—your doctor may refer you to a breast specialist. Call 703.717.4217 to get help to find the right physician for you.
