VHC Health is committed to providing affordable, quality healthcare to all members of our community. Our Outpatient Clinic offers comprehensive medical services to Arlington County Residents with or without insurance at significantly reduced costs.
Who can use the Clinic?
The Outpatient Clinic serves the community by providing healthcare services to patients with or without insurance (no HMOs).
Only residents of Arlington County may use the clinic.
You must have a picture ID with an Arlington County address and at least one other form of identification confirming that you live in Arlington County.
Proof of residency in Arlington County can be a recent water, cable, rent or electric bill.
How do I make an appointment?
The clinic is open to see patients Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Appointments are by schedule-only; no walk-in appointments.

How long does it take to get an appointment?
It depends on the type of appointment or the specialty doctor you need to see. It can be between 2-4 weeks.
What Clinics are offered to Arlington County residents?
- Internal Medicine (Adult): Monday - Friday afternoons; Wednesday & Thursday morning. Appointment only.
- Gynecology: Tuesday & Friday afternoons. Appointment only.
- Obstetrics: Tuesday & Friday mornings. Appointment only.
- General Surgery: Monday morning. Appointment only.
- Orthopedic: Wednesday afternoon. Appointment only.
How much does each visit cost?
Each clinic visit cost $37 every time you see a doctor; any additional services will be charged accordingly.
This is due at the time of the registration. All other tests including blood work, x-rays, etc. that the doctor orders are an additional cost. These costs will be billed to you separately. If you have insurance, your insurance company will be billed for the cost of the clinic visit and any extra tests your doctor orders.
What if I have an emergency?
Emergency appointments are NOT scheduled in the clinic. If you need to see a doctor right away, please go to the nearest Emergency Department.
How do I cancel or change an appointment?
Call the clinic at 703.558.6144 to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
What do I need to bring for my appointment?
Please bring any records you have, including reports of blood work, x-rays, hospitalizations, etc. Also bring a list of all medications you are taking including vitamins, herbal supplements, and over the counter medications. This will help the doctor and nurse make sure you are getting the right treatment.
Is Spanish translator available?
Bilingual staff.
How to arrive by public transportation?
Ballston Station on the Orange Line is the metro stop closest to the Hospital. From Ballston Station, you may take an ART bus: number 51 on weekends or number 52 on weekdays.
