Sara is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at East Carolina University, where she also completed her Master’s degree in Nutrition, and her Dietetic Internship. Sara started her career in acute care with inpatient and joined the VHC family in 2014. Sara worked her way up as Clinical Nutrition Manager for several years; however, she found her true calling with outpatient nutrition where she can help her clients find health at any size. When Sara is not working, her two young children keep her on her toes. She enjoys being at the park with her family.
Lisa is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She also holds a certification in Adult Weight Management. Lisa graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and completed her Dietetic Internship from Sodexo. Prior to joining the VHC Outpatient Diabetes & Nutrition program in 2017, she worked for hospitals, USDA/CNPP, and WIC. Lisa enjoys meeting with clients interested in improving their health through better nutrition. She has a particular interest in plant-based diets, having been a vegetarian for over 25 years. In her free time, Lisa enjoys swimming, running, cooking, reading, and camping with her family.
Mary Ann is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at the University of Delaware, and subsequently completed her Dietetic Internship at Montclair State University. She earned her Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in epidemiology from George Mason University. Mary Ann started her career in New Jersey in acute inpatient care and hemodialysis. She has been with the VHC Outpatient Diabetes and Nutrition program since 2011. Mary Ann enjoys meeting with clients wanting to improve their health through nutrition. Mary Ann enjoys spending her time with her husband and son.
Nadine is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She received her Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University in Medical Dietetics, and Master Degree from Virginia Tech. Nadine has been practicing in dietetics for over 30 years, with a passion for working with patients who have diabetes. She trained in insulin pump therapy and works to keep current in the ever-changing technology of pumps and continuous glucose meters. Nadine’s personal goal is staying active. Over the years, she has participated in a dozen triathlons. In her spare time, her favorite activities are hiking, biking, golfing and spending time with her family. She is a self-professed “foodie” and a firm believer that healthy food can be very delicious too!
Sarah is an Occupational Therapist and certified Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach at VHC Health. She facilitates the Diabetes Prevention Program and provides direct patient care in the inpatient rehab center. Sarah has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Science in Occupational Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is passionate about improving health literacy and education as a means of preventing chronic illness and helping individuals to live life to its fullest. On her days off, Sarah enjoys kayaking, spending time with her dog, and photographing nature.
Maria is the Administrative Coordinator for the Outpatient Diabetes and Nutrition department. She handles patient scheduling, insurance verifications, assisting and registering new patients. Maria also oversees the daily operations in the department. She earned her Associates Degree in Medical Insurance Billing and Coding from Everest College. She joined the VHC Health family in 2017 as a Unit Secretary in the ER. Five years ago, Maria moved into her current role as the Coordinator for the department and diligently strives to make the department better than the day she stepped foot into it. In her spare time, Maria enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys karaoke, board games and The Dallas Cowboys.
Keisha Lewis is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) with more than 20 years of experience working in the fields of human services, mental health, and physical disability. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Winston Salem State University, and a Master of Science in Health Promotion Management from Marymount University. Keisha has been a part of the VHC family for over 15 years. In her free time, Keisha enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising and trying new alternatives to her favorite recipes.
