Nutritional Counseling
Nutritional counseling is an ongoing process in which a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) works with an individual to assess his or her usual dietary intake and identify areas to change in order to improve health outcomes.
Our Registered Dietitians Nutritionists (RDN) provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), an evidence-based, individualized nutrition process meant to help treat certain medical conditions, including obesity, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, IBS, and more.
What to Expect
Initial Assessment
The process begins with an initial assessment, which allows the patient to communicate areas they want to improve regarding health and diet. Often a patient already has a good idea of what dietary changes are needed, but may request help in implementing those changes. In other cases, the RDN may educate the patient on ways to adjust their nutritional choices in order to improve health outcomes.
Follow Up Visits
The RDN and the patient work together to identify areas to change, prioritize changes, and problem solve to identify potential barriers, set realistic goals, and determine the follow up needed to stay on track.
Cost & Insurance Coverage
MNT is covered by most insurances, including telehealth visits. Contact our office at 703.558.5718 for more information.
