Occupational Therapy for Neurological Disorders
Occupational therapists (OTs) help you build skills for daily living so you can do things more independently. Depending on your condition, your OT plan may include:
- Activities of daily living education, adaptation and training
- Adaptive equipment training
- Electric stimulation devices, such as Bioness®, to help you control your muscles
- Custom splints to support your muscles and joints
- Energy conservation and fatigue management education
- Functional cognitive screenings
- Hand and upper extremity rehabilitation
- Modified constraint-induced movement therapy
- Visual and perceptual assessments
Physical Therapy for Neurological Disorders
Physical therapists (PTs) help you improve balance, strength, posture and walking abilities. Benefit from the specialized knowledge of physical therapists with advanced training in neuromuscular conditions. Depending on your condition, your PT plan may include:
- Balance assessment and training
- Dry needling to decrease pain and improve range of motion and function
- Electric stimulation devices, such as Bioness®, to help you control your muscles
- Hands-on treatment
- Home exercise plan
- Gait training that helps you improve your posture, balance and ability to move
Speech-Language Therapy for Neurological Disorders
Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) help you improve your ability to communicate; think, remember and reason; and swallow. Depending on your condition, your speech-language therapy plan may include:
- Swallowing evaluations

- Voice therapy
- LSVT LOUD®, which trains you to use a stronger, louder voice
