The Outpatient Rehabilitation department at VHC Health offers one-on-one individualized care to each of the patients they serve through education, access to high-level equipment and experience. Additionally, the department fosters specialized programs to meet the community's needs in multiple areas.

Physical Therapy
To best meet the needs of our patients, the physical therapists of the Outpatient Rehabilitation Department at VHC Health work on specialized teams. This approach allows our staff to focus their education and provide the best care to the patients we serve. Additionally, this allows patients with multiple problems to be cared for by a team of specialists in different areas of physical therapy, or in conjunction with occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists.
Occupational Therapy
The occupational therapists of the Outpatient Rehabilitation Department at VHC Health strive to provide a rehabilitation experience that is tailored to the patient’s needs.
Speech-Language Pathology
The speech-language pathologists of the Outpatient Department at VHC Health offer speech-language-swallow pathology services for adults to address difficulty speaking or swallowing due to injury or disease. Our therapists provide patient evaluations, functional analysis of speech and swallowing including rehabilitation for cognitive-communication disorders.
Specialized Care Services or Equipment
- Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) study
- Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
- Neurological Impairments (SLP)
- Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT®) certified for Parkinson's disease
Common Diagnoses seen by the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) team: stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders, head and neck cancer, and voice disorders.
Important Requirement
To use Outpatient Rehabilitation services at VHC Health, a written prescription or referral dated in the last 30 days from your physician is required.
