Labor Support Request Program

Labor support

At VHC Health, we know having a baby isn't just a medical experience - it's a momentous, life-changing event. And one that requires the right circle of support, care and guidance.

Alongside VHC Health’s OB Journey which provides education, birth navigation, support groups and classes, our doula-trained Labor Support Volunteers (LSVs) can give additional guidance and care on the day of your baby’s birth. These passionate and compassionate community members will offer encouragement, support, companionship and attention throughout your labor and birth experience.

Assembling your birth team is a personal decision. When you give birth at VHC Health, you are welcome to bring your own professional doula to support your experience. You may also benefit from the aid of one of our LSVs who are available to guide people in labor, free of charge after checking in.
