Your therapist will design a customized Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) program for you that may include:
- Compression garments
- Education in prophylactic methods
- Exercises
- Manual lymphatic drainage
- Specialized compression bandages
- Skin care and ongoing self-care
Goals of Lymphedema Therapy
Follow your care plan to:
- Decrease swelling
- Reduce fibrotic tissue
- Avoid the reaccumulation of lymph fluid
- Prevent and eliminate infections
- Maintain normal or near-normal size of the limb(s)
