Physical Therapy for Osteoporosis

Specialists in Low Bone Mass

Benefit from the knowledge of physical therapists with additional training in addressing problems of thin or weak bones. We use The Meeks Method for Exercise and Movement, a program designed especially for people with low bone mass.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

During your first visit your physical therapist will:

  • Ask about your symptoms and treatment goals
  • Evaluate your posture, range of motion, strength, movement patterns, and balance
  • Determine whether you'd need a spinal brace
  • Provide posture and movement education
  • Recommend home exercises and treatment

Real-Time Ultrasound

Your physical therapist may use real-time ultrasound imaging to:

  • See how your muscles contract and relax
  • Assess muscle activation
  • Help to restore normal muscle function by giving immediate visual feedback
