Pastoral Services

Chaplains nurture well-being, foster hope and guide you through the transitions that accompany health-related issues. Turn to these caregivers for:

  • Counseling
  • Ethics consultations
  • Grief support
  • Help making advance directives and end-of-life decisions
  • Religious services

Your chaplain will take a sensitive, caring approach that respects your faith background and emotional needs.

Meditation & Prayer

Visit our chapel for contemplation, reflection and prayer. Located near the receptionist in the main lobby of Hospital Zone A (1625 building), it offers you a respite in time of need 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Participate in a chapel service or watch it on channel 25 from the TV in your hospital room.

The Healing Garden, located outside across the street from the main lobby of Zone A, provides another quiet space for meditation and prayer.

Worship Opportunities

You're welcome to attend services in the chapel:

  • Roman Catholic Mass on important holy days
  • Other faith services periodically

To receive the Eucharist or Communion any day, call extension 3200 from your hospital room phone.

Chaplain Team

The chaplain team includes ordained staff chaplains, volunteer chaplains and patient companions. In addition, there are clergy of all faiths on call.

Each team member has had intensive training to serve patients like you. Your hospital caregivers may tell us when you're in need, especially if you're receiving intensive care or palliative care. Feel free to tell your nurse if you'd like to speak to a chaplain, priest, imam, rabbi or other religious leader.
