WJLA: OB Connect
COVID-19 brought about many changes in how medical care is provided to our community, for the safety of healthcare works and patients alike. At Virginia Hospital Center, a new program for pregnant patients has shown that virtual visits are beneficial even after the pandemic ends. VHC's Michelle Altman, Patient Care Director, recently spoke to WJLA7 about the Hospital's OB Connect program, which gives expectant moms flexible options for prenatal visits. Through the use of at-home monitoring equipment, a virtual video platform and messaging program, patients are connected with a dedicated registered nurse who works under the supervision of the OB/GYN medical team for the length of the pregnancy.
