WJLA7: Toy and Coat Drive

Santa is getting some extra help this year for Arlington County kids. 

Virginia Hospital Center Foundation is working to make this Christmas special for more than 600 children through its annual toy and coat drive. Community donations are provided to families through VHC Pediatrics, which serves patients in Arlington County who wouldn't otherwise have access to healthcare. 

VHC's Michelle Altman, Patient Care Director, spoke with WJLA about the need in our community. "We average more than 1,500 visits a month, many of those being children under the age of 18," she said. "These families are really struggling with work and earning enough to make ends meet.”
