FOX5: VHC Health & READ Partnership

A new partnership at VHC Health and READ (Read Early And Daily) connects new mothers with books for their babies. This program is aimed at reducing the disparities in access to reading and early childhood development. Every mother will leave VHC Health with a book bag of 5 board books. Once enrolled, mothers will receive an age and culturally appropriate book each month. In low income, vulnerable homes, less than 50% of families have books in the home. It is the hope that this program sparks a love of reading in our community and helps build the bond between mother and baby.
