WJLA 24/7 News ON YOUR SIDE at 9am: Sock Collection to Benefit Arlington Charity

The Nursing Professional Council and VHC Health held a Sock Hop sock collection benefiting Doorways, a non-profit that creates pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence and sexual assault for our Arlington community. When fleeing dangerous situations packing up socks is not a top priority and 50% of Doorways clients are children. The goal was set at 1,940 pairs - 1940 was the year the sock hop started. The generous nurses and staff at VHC Health tripled the goal with 5,800 pairs and was the biggest donation Doorways has ever received!
