DC News Now: Virginia Ranks #2 for Hospital Patient Safety
Virginia ranked second in the nation in the Leapfrog Group’s spring 2024 ranking for hospitals. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade gives 3,000 “general acute-care hospitals” a grade based on certain measures surrounding patient safety. These measures include factors such as how hospitals give their patients treatments, the environment where patients receive care and what happens to patients who are receiving care. Leapfrog looked at a total of 72 hospitals in Virginia. Of those hospitals, 56.3% received an “A” grade in the spring of 2024, including VHC Health.
