VHC Health™ Ranked Among Best Hospitals in America
Arlington, VA (July 14, 2022) – VHC Health, a community-based health system providing medical services to the Washington, DC metropolitan area was one of only 148 hospitals to be included on the inaugural Best Hospitals in America ranking by digital platform Money and healthcare nonprofit The Leapfrog Group. Money is a website aiming to educate its readers in personal finance and The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to healthcare quality and safety.
“VHC Health’s inclusion in the Best Hospitals in America ranking truly exemplifies the hard work and passion of our team,” said Chris Lane, President & CEO of VHC Health. “With more than 6,000 hospitals in the United States, I am honored to have joined a team at VHC Health that is continuously striving for excellence and ranked among the best as we provide safe, top quality medical care with a dedication and commitment to our patients.”
Money and The Leapfrog Group established the “Best Hospitals in America” ranking to help consumers make educated decisions on what healthcare institutions provide the best value for their money. Rankings were determined using The Leapfrog Group’s Hospitals Survey and public data sources. Eligibility was based on the 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assessment, in which VHC Health was one of only 33 hospitals in the country to be awarded a 20th consecutive “A” grade.
The Best Hospitals in America ranking was determined by several factors including the achievement of Leapfrog’s standard for ICU Physician Staffing (IPS), standard for Patient Experience based on CAHPS Child Hospital Survey responses, and standard for Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE). Another determinant was the hospitals’ compliance with the nine basic acts of Leapfrog’s Never Events policy if a “Never Event” were to happen, referring to occurrences in the medical field that should “never happen.”
